The Screenshot Blocking feature is available in IL4 environments to prevent learners from taking screenshots of content. To turn on Screenshot Blocking for your account, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager.
Learners in environments with Screenshot Blocking turned on will experience the following:
- If a learner attempts to copy and paste content, the text "Copying is not allowed" will be pasted instead.
- If native or third party screenshot software is used, the image will not be saved or downloaded.
- When a window "loses focus" (such as clicking into another window), the content will be blurred.
When the learner logs in to an environment where screenshot blocking is turned on, the browser will immediately prompt them with a message saying “…-win.il4.afwerx.dso.mil wants to see text and images copied to the clipboard.”
The learner should select "Allow".
If the learner selects "Block", the following pop-up will continue to appear periodically:
Clicking “Accept” on the message that pops up does not change permissions. The user will have to follow the instructions below in order for the modal to disappear for good. Even if the learner does allow access to the clipboard, the learner is still prohibited from copying/pasting text.
To disable to pop-up, the learner will need to enable access to the clipboard as shown here:
The learner will then be prompted to refresh their browser.
